I love the metaphor of kintsugi for personal healing. Healing and overcoming adversity doesn’t mean going back to the way things were, but creating something different and hopefully better

Your insightful writing truly resonated with me. When I lost my son almost six years ago, I was totally ‘shattered’. I didn’t think I could ever be truly happy again. But in time I realized that I was on one path with my son, Mike; but now am on a different path without him. And, he is always in my heart, but I’ve found a different type of happiness on my new path.

Great piece once again Alex!

It’s really fascinating how we keep falling into the same trap believing that life and careers are supposed to be straight lines rising up. When really, paths are more likely to be up down, backtracking zigzags - and we have to remind ourselves how that’s a good thing.
