This spoke to me as right now I'm hovering somewhere between steps two and three while occasionally considering going back to step two to reassess my current reality and the distance between what I want and where I'd like to be. Thanks for writing this
Great framing! I'll have to add that book to my Kindle list.
This post reminds me of the book "Hero on a Mission" by Donald Miller. His approach is to use storytelling to create a narrative around building towards a greater vision for you life. Not quite the same... but fundamentally empowers you to create and plan for a desired life.
Thanks, James! Will have to check that one out. Also, FYI the author, Robert Fritz, is the same guy who wrote the popular book 'The Path Of Least Resistance.'
Great piece, Alexandra. I really enjoyed it. I'm going to check out both books. Incidentally, I'm writing about September in the piece I'll publish in just a little while. And we haven't talked before! :)
Thanks, Silvio! Means a lot coming from an artist like yourself.
I love both books, though they're very different. 'Designing Your Life' was written by the Stanford professors who introduced the framework of 'Design Thinking' (a framework commonly used within startups to develop products and services). Many people would benefit from reading it, particularly those just embarking on their career.
'Your Life As Art' is messier and has more spirituality weaved through it. It was interesting to read. And FYI the author, Robert Fritz, is the same guy who wrote the popular book 'The Path Of Least Resistance.'

Thanks, Tobi! Glad it resonates. Many of us can relate to going back and forth between two and three. :)

Oh, THAT Robert Fritz. Got it. Thank you!
