This spoke to me so deeply: “ ‘job security’ is often a false sense of security.”
Lately, I’ve been sensing a murkiness about my corporate career path due to uncertainty in the labor market. This murkiness leaves me feeling like I’m taking one step forward, one step back.
Since joining WOP, I’m starting to see and think clearly. I can see there’s a gap between my “corporate identity” I cling to and holding myself from a dream: being a writer, a creator.
Thank you for helping me see through the murkiness, Alexandra
That's amazing you're starting to see and think clearly, Rach! The combination of writing and being surrounded by so many interesting and inspiring people in the WOP community had a similar effect on me.
I joined WOP with the aim to use writing to promote my work. Ironically, it's been most valuable in doing my day-to-day work and providing clarity on the type of work that fulfills me.
Thank you for reading and sharing your journey. Excited to see what unfolds for you!
Great story about the scarf guy, and big congrats on the program acceptance. I had also sworn off courses, but I think that is often a decision that is made from not finding the right fit. When you find a quality course that is a match for what you need now in terms of skills and WHO you need now in terms of community, then you say, Why didn't I do this sooner! Write of Passage was that kind of fit for me, because . . . well, people like YOU are there. Go Alexandra Allen!
I agree, a course that provides the structure, accountability, and peer feedback you need to improve is of tremendous value in propelling you toward a goal.
So glad Write of Passage is providing that for you. It’s done the same for me.

Hope you still have the scarf. You need to sashay with your name. Congratulations!
Haha love that, Karena!! So true! Thank you 😄
Totally, totally shocked you had all your application ducks in a row.
Haha, right? You’ve seen enough of my “behind the scenes” work to know I like to be thorough!
