Right? Movies and TV shows do a great job of highlighting this. Characters will exhaust themselves trying to solve a problem with laser focus.
But it’s always an offhand comment someone makes about something unrelated that sparks the answer they’ve been looking for. And then they go tearing off with knowledge of how to solve the problem.
This is why multidisciplinary teams teach people the most. The broader the perspective you have evaluating a problem, the more connections you spark, and the more likely you are to come up with a robust solution.
