I know you have seen this already where I posted it on my own site, but to put it into the mix here, I'd describe your contribution as follows: "A steady stream of entrepreneurial insight and inspiration that is anti-hype, grounded and kind, self-honest, and always helpful while never being pushy. Alexandra is a true professional in all the best senses of the word—modeling consistency, stability, and clarity in a marriage with the creative process."

Still blown away by such a beautiful tribute, Rick. Thank you SO much! Honestly, that shoutout made my day and week. And that's on top of all the amazingly thoughtful comments you share here week after week. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity, Rick. You're a rockstar my friend!

Happy birthday, Alexandra! I think what I appreciate most about your newsletter is that you share your own insights, challenges, progress, and discoveries in real time. It feels like having a friend who's walking a similar path that I can compare notes with. That, I think, is what makes it "relatable." We're both on this creator journey, which can be lonely at times, and we also have incomplete maps of the territory. So by comparing notes with someone else on the same trail, we can help each other navigate. Cheers, and I hope you enjoy the Christmas season up in the snowy north!

Thank you so much, Chris! That's great to hear. I especially love this analogy:

"We're both on this creator journey, which can be lonely at times, and we also have incomplete maps of the territory."

Cheers to sharing the journey and learning from each other in the process! :)

Happy belated birthday!

I’ll offer some quick thoughts on your newsletter, which is great timing since I’ve spent some time reading so many issues tonight.

There’s so much specificity around your experiences. Even though we have different backgrounds and aren’t on similar paths, outside of the fact that we both write online, I find it valuable to read how you’re thinking through different aspects of your life. You’ve been writing through the lens of a woman, sister, single person, solopreneur, employee, writer, etc. and pulling from your own specific experiences that I don’t have. This makes your writing feel very personal because of the details you bring in around your life.

I noticed it’s useful to see you thinking out loud about how you're navigating all the things. I'll add, I think it's especially important for women to see other women doing that. In general, I think that helps normalize feelings, challenges, realizations, etc. On top of that, you display a lot of competence and have a ton of insight that I find useful and/or interesting even if my world is different from yours; I like that.

Hope this is of some use for you!

Happy birthday, Alexandra! I hear people born in 1989 are the best of the 80s generation! 😜

I love your writing because it’s raw, open, and honest, with great storytelling. You’re reflective, and you have such amazing talent at sharing your story. Have you ever found yourself rooting for a character in a great movie, feeling what they feel as if they were you? That’s how reading your work feels like.

Happy Birthday, Alexandra. The greatest thing about your newsletter is you. Having had the privilege of getting to know you better over the past year, your newsletter is some of the best parts of knowing you. When you share your successes you multiply celebrations and inspire others including myself towards our own achievements. Your reflections are accessible and an invitation to a practice otherwise elusive and not often discussed discipline. You are one of those souls who are attractive in their own right. You are one of the few gracing the internet with an elegance free of pretension. You words are a window to an internal beauty.

I was just speaking with someone last week who had recently visited you. You know who they are. The excitement we shared over your person was as though we had a family member far from home. One worth traveling across the world for. I was hanging on every second of those stories vicariously savoring the moments until we eventually meet.

All to say, your newsletter is a delight to receive every week. Keep putting yourself into these dispatches. They are one of my favorite reads every the week.

Wow, Steven. What a beautiful and moving description! All I can say is, someday when I write a book, I will most def hit you up for a testimonial. Because your words are pure gold! Thank you so much and seriously can't wait til we get to hang out in real life. One of my 2024 goals is to work out how I can meet as many Woppers in a single trip as possible and make it happen. I will definitely consult with you on this, haha. Thank you so much for your friendship, support, and beautiful words. I appreciate you!

So many feels, Alexandra. Happy Birthday! Congratulations! Thank you! Your combo confidence and vulnerability are magnetic. You assert your knowledge and value, yet you don't steer away from sharing the crunchy parts. This combo is relatable.

(PS) I know sharing the crunchier bits is a muscle you've learned to exercise. It's working. 💪🏻

Sending December birthday love from another December birthday! 🥳

I started reading your newsletter after getting amazing feedback from you during Write of Passage. You shared thoughtful insights and suggestions on my writing and helped me see that my writing could become more - punchier, funnier, and more engaging.

I wanted to continue to learn from your writing and expertise and found a connection between your experiences as an educator, designer, and entrepreneur and my own. Your writing is fun and insightful to read and leaves me with something new to think about each time. Thank you and happy birthday!

Thank you so much, Brooke! That's wonderful to hear. I was definitely a bit nervous about taking on an editor role with Write of Passage this cohort, but I wanted to challenge myself and I'm so glad I did. It was incredibly rewarding to read and provide feedback on your pieces.

And a very happy early birthday to you from a fellow December baby! 🥳
