What a great post to celebrate this milestone! Another case of "giving" that we associate so strongly with you, Ali. And thank you for the mention but I think it was a case of a rising tide raises ALL boats. Your newsletter would drop just as I lost faith, and I'd say "just one more"
As usual, a very useful and well-structured essay. I resonate with all of it. Funnily enough, I started this week’s essay 5 days early, spent more than 10 hrs on 3 completely different angles and just couldn’t get things to gel. In the end, I wound up writing very little and instead sharing a video of someone speaking that had been haunting me for 10 days. I had the instinct to share it, but second-guessed that instinct by overthinking and comvincing myself it had to be me providing the thoughtful or inspirational content. In truth, I think this video was meant to be shared and I couldn’t wrestle an alternate reality into place. Consistent provision of value through publishing is a fascinating exercise in self-awareness and personal growth.
Love that, Rick! I’ve been there *many* times, spending several days going in every other direction only to realize the key idea or message plaguing me has been staring me in the face all along. 🤦🏻♀️
I’m glad you leaned into your gut feeling and I bet the video will resonate with many readers. Congrats! And thanks for a thoughtful, introspective comment (as always). :)
I remember a similar moment where the impact of a video took more words to explain than allowing my readers to draw their own conclusions. You chose well, Rick. 50K people, 4 toilets, water twice a day.
Exactly! There's so much I wanted to say about this video, but had to restrain myself and let everyone have their own experience. Which is likely to be different for everyone.
Excellent list, thank you for sharing! I struggle with creating a sacred hour which leads me to writing too late at night. I’ll need to put it on my calendar.
Such an informative read, it breaks things down into manageable steps.
Thanks, Miche! I’m so glad. The sacred hours can be hard to honour with competing priorities so my advice is to be kind and patient with yourself as you work out the best routine for you. :)
That’s great to hear, Alex! I can’t recommend sticking with your publishing habit enough. WoP unlocks so much opportunity if you stick with what you’ve learned and put in the reps to improve and distribute your ideas.
These are superb tips, thank you for sharing! The most pertinent for me is the brain dumping exercise and not forcing myself to write about something when I have an instinct for something else.
Thank you for this Alexandra. It comes at just the right time as I fell off of a writing habit and now intend to get back on it. Your very practical advice on the subject is most welcome indeed.
That’s great to hear, Drake! I know I’ve shared a lot in the interest of being thorough but all of these steps become second nature rather quickly when you start doing them weekly. Good luck with the reboot! You’ve got this. 💪🏼😊

Thanks, Karena! And 100% about all of us motivating each other through dips in energy and faith. 🙌🏼💛

Excellent advice as always 🥰
I've been struggling to figure this all out after ending WoP. You've given me a lot of clarity. Thank you!

111 weeks! Wow. That's an incredible feat. Thanks for your tips, and the reminders to embrace breaks when and as they come too.
Thanks, Becky! Glad the tips resonate. Breaks are super important! :)

Thanks, Joseph! That's great to hear. Brain dumping and following our intuition are huge catalysts in publishing consistently. 😊
