This one’s for Ukraine
My heart goes out to everyone affected.
If you’re struggling with how to help—like I’ve been—here are two options you could consider:
Donate to humanitarian efforts
Food, water, clothing, medical supplies—basic necessities we take for granted every day—are needed. A donation as small as $5 can have a huge impact taken together with other donations. I’ve donated to Ukrainian Red Cross Society but there are plenty of other organizations you could support.
Create space for those who need it
Creating space and amplifying the voices of those sharing information is vital. The same goes for those sharing their pain, fears, hopes—and faith that things will get better. Active listening and sharing posts on social media are great ways to do this.
The article pictured above shares how companies like Ubisoft—my former employer—are supporting employees in Ukraine. I hope they inspire other companies to do the same.
It’s conflicting to see and hear what’s happening in Ukraine, while life goes on as normal in Canada.
I’m writing you from the opposite coast today, having taken a ski trip to Whistler.
The sense of calm in the mountains—its simplicity and natural beauty—is the essence of peace.
I’m sending that energy and all my love to Ukraine. 💙🇺🇦💛

Thank you for this, Alexandra. My heart breaks for all those affected by this needless war.
On a lighter note, enjoy Whistler! I spent many childhood hours on those slopes. I hope BC treats you well :)
